1. There were no hyperlinks
2. Akismet did not catch it.

What laptop do you have,

I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 (a 3.5 years old laptop)

and what graphics drivers is it using?

The graphics card is an ATI Radeon Mobility 9600 Pro (128 MB dedicated DDR graphics RAM)

The graphics drivers used by X Window is “radeon”

That “can’t maximize” problem is interesting.

Also, after turning off Desktop Effect, you will need to close and re-launch Chromium. Henceforth it will maximize.

But seems there are issues with WebChunk. It does not notify about an update. I did not get an update notification when I changed my latest post from “web slices” to “chrome on linux”. IE 8 notifies via making the bookmark bold.

Also after refreshing the WebChunk’s bookmark, the title of the bookmark remains the same i.e. “Slice out my latest post” and does not change to “Run Google Chrome on Linux”.

Another issue is, clicking on the WebChunk bookmark takes me to the home page and not to the full blog page.

On the + side: With WebChunks, you can even mark and slice content which are not Web Slices. For this, click on the WebChunks icon on the left and select “Create your own webchunk in the current page”. Then move the mouse over the content which interests.

a. what does desktop effects have to do with maximising the size of Chrome window?

I guess with Compiz as the Windows Manager, the CrossOver Chromium is not able to find the dimensions of the screen. I can still drag the Chrome window from the edges and increase its window’s size. I also have IE6 installed and running on Wine (http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page). It does not have this issue

Indeed. It works fine on Chrome on Windows (virtualized or not).
