Hi ANNA,

However the kindle was a gift and I am a student and I simply cannot afford the shipping rates. What do you suggest I do?

From what I read, Amazon should refund the courier charges. But I don't have a first hand experience on this. So do confirm this with Amazon support and the process on how will you or the person (who gifted you the Kindle) will get a refund. Please do come back and share your experience. This is going to help many who are facing this issue.

I bought a Kindle 3G+Keyboard in USA for my friend in Kolkata. She is using it fine but she gets only EDGE coverage - whereas people who bought it in Kolkata is getting 3G coverage (sitting next to each other). Is there any settings to be done to get 3G coverage? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,
My kindle got damaged within 30 days of registration. Amazon has given me the option of replacing it. However the kindle was a gift and I am a student and I simply cannot afford the shipping rates. What do you suggest I do?

and lastly, is it true that amazon is entering India next year that is 2012 January? they seems to have registered amazon dot co dot in website already.
any lead?
Is it an option that We can get After Sales Service from Amazon "India" in next few Months.

Thanks..and I think You are a news analyst anchor in cnn-ibn iinm.

hi bikramjit,

Regarding charging, they provided the USB cable so as to charge it from laptop/computer.

Didn't you get the USB power adapter along with the USB cable? The USB cable can go into this adapter and you can charge your Kindle through an AC outlet.

Is there charger available for Kindle in India…

Kindle charges through micro USB. So you can buy any Micro USB cable to charge it through your laptop. To charge it through an AC outlet, you can buy a USB to AC adapter. It is commonly available in any computer or peripheral accessories shop.

Another thing how much time it takes to charge kindle battery.

About 6 hours

I leave it charging overnite…and in morning i find it fully charged..Is that okay ?

Yep! But don't keep charging it every night. Charge only when the battery is low.
