I have a quick qn, did you hear anything about kindle wifi only. B&N nook released wifi only, and I heard the rumours abt kindle regd. the same. please share any info you have.

It seems, from Gautam’s comment, that he was able to download the update but there was a problem transferring the update file to the Kindle.

well the link you posted for manual upgrade worked and a file downloaded of approx. 26MB .. but when I try to copy it to my kindle’s root folder it wont copy .. so any idea what now to do ??

I downloaded and copied the file on the Kindle. It copied without any error. I did not apply the update because the Kindle was already updated (via Wireless)!

Could the problem be the space on your Kindle? You once tried copying 800+ books.

Check the free space on the Kindle in “My Computer” (assuming that you are using Windows)

well, congrats! since the first comment was mine, and since i’m the owner of the kindle that this FAQ is based on, i thought it fit that the 101st comment be mine too

Guys, this is so true. Hadn’t Juhi ordered the Kindle, this blog post would not have existed. I must acknowledge that Juhi has lent me her Kindle for weeks, whenever I asked for it, to answer queries/comments on this blog post. Tough for her since, she is an avid reader (I’m not at all into books)

What’s more, as of this writing, I’m in possession of her Kindle which I picked up to check out the Kindle updates.
